Complete Dentures

Designed for patients who have lost all teeth in the upper or lower arch (or both). Conventional complete dentures are placed after the gum tissue has healed, typically eight to twelve weeks after extraction. Immediate dentures can be placed the same day as extractions.

Partial Dentures

If you still have some natural teeth, partial dentures fill the gaps while clasping onto existing teeth for support. They prevent remaining teeth from shifting into the spaces left by missing ones and are a more affordable alternative to implants for multiple missing teeth.

Impressions & Measurements

Our in-house denturist takes precise impressions of your mouth and records measurements of your bite and jaw relationship. These are sent to a dental laboratory where your custom denture is fabricated, a process that typically takes one to two weeks.

Fitting & Adjustments

When your denture is ready, we check the fit, bite, and appearance carefully. Minor adjustments are made at this appointment. It’s normal to need a few follow-up adjustments as your mouth adapts, we include these in your care.

Adaptation Period

New dentures take time to feel natural. Speech and chewing may feel different for a few weeks as your muscles adjust. We provide detailed guidance on what to expect and how to speed up the adaptation process comfortably.

Before Your Appointment

If you’re having teeth extracted before dentures are placed, allow adequate healing time unless immediate dentures have been planned. Bring a list of current medications to your consultation, certain medications affect healing and saliva production. If you have existing dentures, bring them so we can assess what’s working and what needs to change.

During the Process

Denture fabrication involves multiple appointments over one to two weeks. Each visit is brief and comfortable, impressions, bite recordings, and try-in fittings are non-invasive. We encourage you to ask questions at every step. Your input on appearance, tooth shade, shape, and alignment, is important and valued.

Aftercare

New dentures may feel bulky or loose initially, this is normal as your muscles adapt. Eat soft foods and cut items into smaller pieces during the first few weeks. Remove and rinse dentures after eating, brush them daily with a soft brush and denture cleanser, and soak them overnight in water or a denture solution. Never use hot water, which can warp the appliance.

How long does it take to get dentures?
The process typically takes two to three weeks from the initial impressions to your final fitting, depending on the type of denture and whether any extractions are needed. Immediate dentures can be placed the same day as extractions, though they will require relining once the gums have healed.
Modern dentures are designed to closely mimic natural teeth and gum tissue. We work with you on tooth shade, shape, and alignment to achieve an appearance you’re happy with. Patients are often surprised at how natural well-fitted dentures look and feel.
With proper care, dentures typically last five to eight years before relining or replacement becomes necessary. As your jaw bone changes over time, the fit will gradually loosen, annual checkups allow us to catch this early and recommend relining before discomfort develops.
We recommend removing dentures overnight to allow your gum tissue to rest and recover. Wearing them 24 hours a day can accelerate bone resorption and increase the risk of gum irritation and fungal infection. Soaking overnight also helps maintain the shape of the appliance.
